A Levels: Gold Standard for Pre-University Studies

The Cambridge A Levels qualification is an advanced level programme within the British General Certificate of Secondary Education examination system and serves as university entrance examinations for British students.

The exams are uniformly set by the University of Cambridge Examinations Board and are renowned as the ‘gold standard for pre-university studies‘, recognised by over 160 countries and regions, and more than 11,000 universities worldwide.

We offer a selection of A Level subjects designed to meet the diverse academic interests of our students.

Cambridge International Project Qualification (IPQ)

The Cambridge IPQ allows students to deepen their engagement with a subject of personal interest by producing a 5,000-word research report. Through this process, students demonstrate academic commitment, independent inquiry, and the ability to manage an extended project, qualities that are highly valued by universities and future employers. The IPQ also nurtures lifelong learning skills by encouraging students to explore topics in greater depth, beyond traditional exam-focused study.

Personal Enrichment Projects (PEP)

Service and Leadership
Students work in small groups to plan and carry out a community project. They are required to complete a portfolio and deliver a presentation that documents their planning process, actions taken, and reflections on their learning and impact.

Mini Project
Students work independently to plan, manage, complete, and evaluate a short research project, culminating in a 1000-word written report. They will also deliver a 10-minute oral presentation summarising their work.

Personal Learning Plan
Students receive guidance to develop a Personal Learning Plan that helps them identify their strengths, areas for growth, and both short- and long-term goals. This process enhances their self-awareness and supports better focus and direction in their learning journey.

Additional Support Programmes

The Light House Programme: Provide our A Level students with invaluable real-world internship experiences in professional environments. We collaborate with our shareholders who have a wealth of business across different industries, such as property development, hotels, and hospitals, among others, and other industry partners for these placements. This offers our students crucial exposure and practical experience.

IELTS Preparatory Programme: Aim to bolster the English macro-skills of our A Levels students in listening, reading, writing, and speaking. It also covers an extensive range of examination strategies, ensuring students are well-prepared for their IELTS assessments.

Student Exchange Programme: Offer our students the chance to participate in exchange programmes across our Adcote Schools network. This opportunity will afford them invaluable cultural exposure, thus amplifying their global awareness and fostering adaptability. They may stand to gain academic enrichment through the exploration of new subjects and perspectives. Such experiences are instrumental in augmenting their A Level studies.

2026 A Level Results

We are pleased to share the results of our first cohort of A Level students in the 2026 Cambridge International A Level examinations.

  • 100% Pass Rate
  • 30.7% of grades achieved were A* or A
  • 53.8% of grades achieved were A*– B
  • 84.6% of grades achieved were A*– C
  • 50% of students achieved at least one A* or A grade

Our A Level students demonstrated commendable progress, with several entering the programme from diverse academic backgrounds, including those without a traditional IGCSE pathway and with varying levels of English language proficiency. Throughout the programme, they worked closely with our teachers to strengthen their subject knowledge, academic skills and confidence, successfully meeting the demands of A Level study.

As our students prepare for the next chapter of their academic journey, they continue to receive guidance and support through our academic counselling services, including advice on university pathways and applications. We wish each of them every success as they progress to universities and pursue their chosen fields of study, and we look forward to seeing where their aspirations take them.
