IGCSE & A-LEVEL Accounting Teacher (3-Month Maternity Cover)

Job Description:

Location: Adcote Matrix International School (Secondary), Sendayan, Seremban, Negeri Sembilan
Employment Type: Temporary (Contract)
Duration: 3 months (maternity cover)
Start Date:  Earliest December 2024 for hand over work- New term 6 January 2025

Job Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and capable IGCSE and A-Level Accounting Teacher for a temporary maternity cover position. This role offers a great opportunity to gain valuable teaching experience with Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level curricula. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply, as this role provides excellent exposure and hands-on teaching experience in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver lessons for IGCSE and A-Level Accounting students, following the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) syllabus.

  • Ensure a smooth transition in teaching responsibilities and maintain continuity of the learning process during the maternity cover period.

  • Prepare students for upcoming assessments and exams, using a variety of teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles.

  • Mark and assess student work, providing timely feedback to ensure progress in both IGCSE and A-Level courses.

  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance, and contribute to progress reports as necessary.

  • Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages engagement and participation in accounting-related topics.

  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a seamless learning experience for students.

  • Be available for parent communication or meetings regarding student progress when required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Education, or a related field.

  • Teaching qualification/certification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) is preferred, but fresh graduates with relevant knowledge are encouraged to apply.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices as outlined in the Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level syllabuses.

  • Ability to teach and support students in exam preparation, ensuring they meet the requirements for both IGCSE and A-Level assessments.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience teaching or tutoring accounting students (internship or practicum experience will be considered).

  • Familiarity with teaching students from diverse cultural and academic backgrounds.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to integrate into an existing teaching structure and manage short-term transitions

BOARDING HOUSE PARENT (MALE)

Job Description:

  • Responsible for providing leadership and wise management for the Boarders, in
    accordance with the values and guidelines of the Boarding House programme.
  • Handle minor disciplinary matters and make recommendations to the Floor
    Manager/Head of Boys regarding major disciplinary matters.
  • Supervise the group table in the canteen at meals.
  • Assist with the Boarding House and sporting activities.
  • Check student rooms regularly to maintain a reasonable standard of neatness and to
    teach personal responsibility.
  • Provide practical training in normal home activities; supervise students in daily chores.
  • Liaise with the floor manager regarding any defects in the Boarding House.
  • Must be resident overnight on the floor designed for you when on duty.
  • Responsible for at least one Boarding House activity per week, this may be in conjunction with
    another Boarding House Parent.
  • Up to 44 hours per week including evenings and weekends.

Requirements:

  • A minimum qualification of a Degree holder
  • Minimum 2 years of working experience in a related field

Receptionist cum School Admin

Job Description:

  • Attend all incoming phone calls and walk in visitors professionally
  • Greeting, welcoming and assist visitors
  • Arrange courier pick up and manage incoming letters/documents/parcels before circulate to the respective department
  • To update telephone directory and contact list
  • Maintain office security controlling access via the reception desk (monitor logbook)
  • Maintain cleanliness at reception area
  • Set up meeting facilities
  • To provide general administrative, clerical support and other duties as and when assigned by the Head of School

Requirements:

  • Candidate possess at least Diploma at any field or equivalent
  • Can converse in English and Malay. Mandarin is an added advantage
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Maintenance Assistants 

Job Description:

The Maintenance Assistant plays a key role in ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained
environment for students, staff, and visitors. This position supports the day-to-day maintenance
operations of school facilities and equipment, helping to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted
learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic repairs and general maintenance duties across the school premises
    (classrooms, offices, playgrounds, restrooms, etc.).
  • Assist with the upkeep of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
  • Carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Support janitorial staff when needed, especially during school events or emergencies.
  • Set up furniture and equipment for school functions and activities.
  • Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety regulations and school policies.
  • Report any maintenance concerns, damage, or safety hazards to the Facilities Manager.
  • Keep maintenance tools, equipment, and supplies organized and in good working
    condition.
  • Assist contractors or service providers working on-site when required.
    Qualifications and Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in maintenance or a technical field is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in a maintenance or facilities role, preferably in an educational or institutional setting.
  • Basic knowledge of building systems, tools, and repair techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, especially in a school environment.
  • Physically able to perform manual tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in different weather conditions.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position.
