Highlights of 2019

It’s been a year of transformation for all of us at MGS, we’d like to thank everyone for being part of our journey of growth and learning to be the best we can be. Our year has been filled with celebrating the successes of our students not only in their academic triumphs but also of those in sports and the performing arts.  

So, to mark the end of 2019, here are some of the highlights of the year that we’re proud to share with you:

MGS’ Chinese Debate Teams are champions of the Negeri Sembilan Mandarin Debate Championship with the Overall Best Debater award going to Stanley Ng. The team then went on to represent the state of Negeri Sembilan at the National Level Debate Championship

Yasshmita Jadishkumar (Year 10) is ranked No. 2 in the Asian Junior Squash Ranking for Girls U15, she has been No. 1 in the state of Negeri Sembilan for 13 consecutive months in the same category. She also received the award for the Best Achievement in 2018 / 2019 from the Negeri Sembilan Squash Association.

Anya Loh (Year 8), bags 6 gold medals at two International Wushu Competitions. She has done us proud again by winning 2 gold medals at the 5th International Wushu competition in Kuala Lumpur and 4 gold medals at the Hong Kong Wushu Competition.

MGS students representing school and country at the 7th International Culture, Education & Arts Festival at Hengshui, Hebei China. Experiencing the learning culture in China by visiting different schools in Hengshui.

April 08-2019 - Mamma Mia (1)

“Mamma Mia, here I go again, my my, how can I resist you?” Our students raising the curtains with their performance of Mamma Mia bringing the audience back to the 1970s when we thanked them (ABBA) for the joy their music brought.

Our St. John Ambulance Team (primary students) winning both the boys’ and girls’ championship. The boys and girls were also runners-up for the Ambulance Cadet and Nursing Cadet categories.

Ameenshenraj Chandaran (Year 10), winning the 2019 British Junior Squash Open in Birmingham. He also went on to receive the Negeri Sembilan Squash Association’s Award for Best Achievement in 2018 / 2019 and is also endorsed as an Air Asia Athlete.

Crimson Cadence performs as the opening act at the Malaysian Basketball Association (MABA) Tournament. This was then followed by a ‘dikir barat’ performance, a musical form, native to the Peninsular of Malaysia, from our students bringing a local touch to the national event.

Parvin Nityanathan (Year 6), wins 10 medals at the Negeri Sembilan Schools Sports Council (MSSNS) Swimming tournament. Bagging 3 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals at the tournament which was held in February.

MGS students recognized as the Top 10% from each category of the Kangaroo Math Competition (KMC). With 8 of our students winning medals for their efforts in this nationwide competition.

Tan Ping Yuen (Form 4), named the best athlete for the U18 category in Seremban District 1.
